Family Craftsmanship, Cutting-Edge Leathers

Determination, drive, and a dedication to continued innovation make this LA-based, family-run leather maker one of the world’s most creative.

y grandfather came to work every week until he was 99,” says Justin, head of a family-owned, LA-based American premium coat manufacturer—and one of our esteemed partners. “He loved the coat business, and our focus has always been on the quality and craftsmanship. We make a limited number of coats per day; no large company can match the hand-crafted care and quality that we produce.”

Justin’s late grandfather learned the leather trade as a shoemaker in Hungary, and went on to run Hungary’s largest state-owned shoe factory. After the Iron Curtain came down, the artisan—a WWII sharpshooter who spent six years as a POW—and his family braved snowstorms and peril to make their way to the land of the free in Los Angeles. He and his wife, also a talented leather worker, saved for months to buy enough leather to handcraft two unique jackets. Within six months, they’d started their own coat manufacturing business.

Decades later, the family-run facility remains among the world’s finest. At once a heritage brand and a cutting-edge innovator, our trusted partner sources select skins from only the finest tanneries in Italy. And for their skilled team of artisans, leather working is more than just a job—it’s a calling.

Tony, Production Manager

“I love leather garments,” says Tony, a production manager with nearly fifty years’ experience. “It’s in my blood, it’s what I know. Our coats are special because of our talented designers and really professional cutters and tailors. We always buy the nicest leathers from Italy and inspect them very closely before making anything. I learned from the family how to treat people well—it’s such a nice working environment.”

“I love leather jackets; I have fifteen. Our focus is on attention to detail, things like gluing every single stitch for extra quality. As the founder always said, the quality of the jacket is the most precious thing.”

—MARIA, COAT BUNDLER WITH OVER 30 YEARS' EXPERIENCE

Says Paul, an operations manager for 31 years, “I came in as a temp for three weeks thirty-one years ago, helping file orders. Within a short time, I was forecasting and buying all the leathers, having responsibility I never imagined. There’s a two-month lead time for leather, so getting the colors, timing, and quantities right is critical. Now I oversee leather buying, production, and scheduling. People love our coats for their quality and contemporary look.”

Blending old-world European craftsmanship with innovative new manufacturing techniques, our partner arrives at some of the world’s finest outerwear fashions in sheepskin and leather.

Every jacket tells a story of artistry, determination, and strong character, continuing the powerful legacy of a true pioneer.

Before final inspection, all coats are carefully hand-pressed and smoothed for a perfect finish.

For this skilled team of artisans, leather working is more than just a job—it’s a calling.
